High Voltage Power Supply Technician
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty high voltage power supply units in a manufacturing setting.
Repair and replace high voltage components
Calibrate and test high voltage power supplies to ensure proper operation and compliance with industry standards for voltage regulation, current control, and safety.
Use high voltage testing equipment, including insulation resistance testers, hipot testers, and high-voltage probes, to perform testing and ensure safe, reliable operation of power supply units.
Troubleshoot feedback circuits, including voltage regulation circuits, control loops, and overvoltage protection systems, ensuring optimal performance and system stability.
Inspect and repair power regulation components like PWM controllers, voltage feedback loops, and current sensing circuits to optimize efficiency and performance.
Work alongside the engineering team to improve system designs by identifying weaknesses, implementing design improvements, and ensuring that new designs meet safety and efficiency standards.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols when working with high voltage systems, using proper PPE, maintaining safety interlocks, and following industry regulations like IEC and UL standards.
Maintain and update repair records, including detailed service reports, part replacements, and performance testing results for each high voltage power supply.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize power supply performance, identifying areas for improvement in both hardware and software components, including thermal management, filtering, and noise suppression techniques.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to other departments as necessary, ensuring minimal downtime of critical systems.
Stay current on the latest advancements in high voltage technologies and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives in design, troubleshooting, and repair processes.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with high voltage power supply systems in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of high voltage systems, including transformers, rectifiers, HV capacitors, high-voltage semiconductors, power regulation circuits, and other power electronics components.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, HV multimeters, insulation resistance testers, hipot testers, and high-voltage probes for troubleshooting and testing.
Strong understanding of safety procedures for high voltage work, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), grounding, and proper PPE requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed manuals for high voltage systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex faults in high voltage power supply circuits.
Experience in system design optimization, including the identification of performance bottlenecks, recommending improvements, and working closely with engineering teams to implement changes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document work and communicate technical information effectively.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Certification or formal training in high voltage electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
Previous experience with high voltage power supplies in manufacturing industry is a plus.
